Sarban: A Handmade Camel Leather Bag

Aida Mehranfar introduces "Sarban," a handmade camel leather bag inspired by the Sarban minaret in Isfahan, Iran, reflecting the peaceful coexistence of different religious communities in the region.

The bag, measuring 23 cm x 30 cm x 12 cm and weighing 613 g, is designed to be visually and functionally efficient, showcasing ancient Iranian art to the world.

The bag's creation involved extensive research in architecture, with the design process taking two weeks to complete in December 2020.

The bag's design was meticulously crafted by hand, drawing inspiration from the geometric patterns of the Sarban minaret, symbolizing peace and unity among diverse cultures.

Through Sarban, Aida Mehranfar aims to promote a deeper understanding of peace and human perception, connecting the audience with elements of Iranian culture and architecture.

The bag was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in 2024, recognizing its well-designed, practical, and innovative characteristics that contribute to a better world.
