FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Move: Redefining Ergonomic Seating

Ariel Śliwiński's Move chair project is a groundbreaking endeavor to create a form in line with the principles of Juhani Pallasmaa, aiming to provide users with not only visual but also tactile experiences. The chair's unique design incorporates materials differing in texture, hardness, and temperature, resulting in a visually and haptically intriguing piece of furniture. The chair's adjustable seat, rotating backrest, and embedded pressure sensor promote individualized comfort and a healthier sitting routine.

The chair's structure features cast aluminum elements for lightness and rigidity, while the seat, backrest, and armrests are crafted from five-axis milled cork. The project's primary goal was to reconcile ergonomics, functionality, high quality, and ecology, addressing the prevailing global overconsumption and the need for sustainable furniture solutions.

Environmental considerations played a significant role in the project, with the chair's design allowing for easy user assembly, reducing its carbon footprint. All components share the same material, facilitating repair or replacement of worn elements, promoting sustainability throughout the chair's lifecycle.

Ariel Śliwiński's projects are driven by the identification of specific needs, with a focus on observing and capturing human-object relationships. The Move chair has been recognized with the Bronze A' Design Award in 2024, acknowledging its outstanding and creatively ingenious design that contributes to quality of life improvements.
