Miloni Shah introduces Intertwine, a revolutionary transit nexus, blending urban connectivity and social interaction in Brno, Czech Republic.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Miloni Shah, an architect passionate about human-centric design, has unveiled Intertwine, a visionary transit nexus designed to transform the urban fabric of Brno, Czech Republic. Inspired by the city's rich history and its contemporary role as a bustling regional center, Intertwine aims to enhance connectivity, resilience, and progress through a robust transit system.
Intertwine's unique features include strategically placed stops near amenities, a gateway railway line prioritizing sustainability, and a central concourse plaza fostering vibrant centers and a sense of community. The project was realized using cutting-edge technology, including AutoCAD, SketchUp, Rhino, Grasshopper, 3ds Max, Lumion, Corona, and Photoshop.
The transit nexus spans an area of 102,852.20 sq.m. and features innovative elements such as morphogenic columns, transparent roof coverings, solar panels for sustainability, and electric bike trails connecting waterfront and plaza areas.
Brno's station prioritizes functionality, boasting efficient vehicular flow, seamless tram connections, and an open concourse encouraging community engagement. The design aims to create a pleasant, safe, and interactive space, addressing structural concerns with durable materials and prefabrication techniques.
The project was designed in Savannah, Georgia, from September 2021 to June 2022, as part of Miloni Shah's M.Arch thesis, delving into the pivotal link between urban transit and human-centric design. Intertwine integrates mass transit to prioritize social interaction and city fabric, proposing comprehensive planning for vibrant public spaces while addressing urban growth and challenges.
Intertwine has been recognized with the Bronze A' Design Award in the Engineering, Construction, and Infrastructure Design category in 2024, acknowledging its outstanding and creatively ingenious design that authenticates experience and resourcefulness.
