Melek Zeynep Bulut's Open Work, a performative spatial installation, won the 'Public Award' at the London Biennale and was featured in the London Design Festival and Taksim Square in Istanbul in 2023.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Melek Zeynep Bulut's Open Work is an experimental architectural pavilion that challenges traditional spatial design by integrating various disciplines such as sound design, engineering, and sculpture art. This multidisciplinary structure serves as a portal, addressing the consciousness of the world and humanity, and was exhibited in prestigious events including the London Biennale and the London Design Festival.
The 24 steel frame structure, mounted on a spider-like base platform, supports 3879 tubes that continuously reshape through human movement and wind, creating a dynamic and interactive experience for visitors. Open Work's mobility and adaptability make it a unique and thought-provoking addition to the contemporary design world.
Melek Zeynep Bulut's works are a synthesis of space, experimental architecture, behavioral sciences, urban design, and visual arts. Her focus on the multi-layered system of material, experimental circulation fiction, and human consciousness has earned her the Silver A' Design Award in Fine Arts and Art Installation Design in 2024.
