YI WU Unveils "Memory of Jiangnan" Poster, a Fusion of Tradition and Modernity
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
YI WU, in collaboration with YANGHUA YAO, has unveiled "Memory of Jiangnan," a stunning 70*100cm poster that pays homage to the beauty and nostalgia of Jiangnan, a region celebrated in Chinese literature. The design draws inspiration from traditional Chinese poetry, incorporating elements of oracle bone inscriptions and seal script, and infusing them with modern 3D experimentation. The result is a captivating blend of tradition and modernity, showcasing the charm of Jiangnan culture and ancient Chinese poems to the world.
The project, which commenced in April 2021, involved extensive research and creative challenges in deconstructing and reconstructing Jiangnan cultural elements. The designers' meticulous efforts culminated in a visually striking representation of Chinese heritage and aesthetics, brought to life through digital printing technology.
YI WU, a doctoral student in martial arts at Seoul National University, hails from the Republic of Korea. The "Memory of Jiangnan" poster has been recognized with the prestigious Iron A' Design Award in the Graphics, Illustration, and Visual Communication Design category for its innovative and practical approach, seamlessly integrating tradition with contemporary design principles.
