Plum Port: Residential Design by Ma Shao-Hsuan

Marvelous Studio, led by Ma Shao-Hsuan, introduces Plum Port, a residential design project that redefines space efficiency and aesthetics. With a mere 61㎡ of interior space, Plum Port seamlessly integrates two rooms, a living room, a dining room, and a concealed large storage space, while retaining the former kitchen and two toilets. The design aims to provide a serene yet engaging atmosphere, catering to the user's psychological needs after a long day.

The unique feature of Plum Port lies in its utilization of multifunctional wall cabinets and metal storage solutions, which not only optimize space but also create diverse storage options. By incorporating different metal pegboard door panels, the design achieves varying shielding effects, ensuring both functionality and visual appeal.

Marvelous Studio's meticulous approach to Plum Port involved extensive research and creative problem-solving to overcome the challenges posed by the petite space. The project, which commenced in April 2019 and concluded in January 2020, garnered the prestigious Bronze A' Design Award in 2020, recognizing its outstanding innovation and resourcefulness in interior space design.
