Cadaques: A New Approach to Outdoor Lighting
Faro Lab's Cadaques is a groundbreaking outdoor luminaire inspired by the charm and style of the Catalan coast. Evoking the warmth of outdoor spaces, this innovative design draws inspiration from beach loungers and is crafted with special features for coastal environments. The luminaire's shade is made of VERTISOL fabric, a specially certified outdoor material, and is equipped with IP65 protection against solid and liquid bodies.
Measuring 645x515x810 mm, the Cadaques luminaire features an 18W 3000K LED bulb and is constructed with aluminum injection and textile screen materials. Its unique design and technical specifications set it apart as a versatile and durable lighting solution for outdoor spaces.
The project, which began in July 2018 and concluded in August 2019 in Barcelona, presented logistical challenges due to production partnerships in China and Spain. Despite these obstacles, the Cadaques luminaire successfully combines innovative design with functional excellence, earning it the prestigious Bronze A' Design Award in 2020.
