FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

AI Generation Interface for Children

Wen-Yu Huang's Wow Genie project introduces a series of simple and guided AI generation interfaces designed to provide early exposure to AI-related education for children. The interfaces cover six major aspects of people's lives, including clothing, food, shelter, transportation, education, and entertainment, divided into five categories: architecture, shops, merchandise, art, and music.

With a focus on simplicity and ease of use, the interfaces enable children to operate them without prior knowledge of AI, fostering a new generation of tech-savvy individuals from an early age.

Utilizing stable diffusion, the user interface was built with HTML5, ensuring easy operation and understanding for all ages, including children under 12 years old. The entire interface can be accessed on any computer without the need for high-end graphic cards, with the calculating and rendering processes completed in the cloud.

The Wow Genie project began its conceptual proposal in June 2023, was completed in March 2024, and held a design joint exhibition in Yunlin, Taiwan in May 2024. Subsequently, it was exhibited at the Young Designers' Exhibition in Taipei from May to June and at Vision Get Wild in Kaohsiung in June.

Wen-Yu Huang's Wow Genie project simplifies the AI generation process, making it accessible for children. The interface allows users to generate prompts through various methods such as keyword selection, text input, drawing symbols, and selecting music clips, without the need to learn technical terms, parameters, or abstract concepts.

The most challenging part of the design process was finding the balance between simplicity and engagement. The team used cute mascots to appeal to children while ensuring the interface remained easy to use. The project was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in 2024, recognizing its well-designed, practical, and innovative approach.
