Jasper Nijssen Introduces Nel Typeface, a Modern Font with Unique Styling Options
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Jasper Nijssen introduces Nel, a modern typeface designed to provide a regular style for body text and eccentric, fun versions for headers or highlighted text, offering coherence in design.
Nel is a versatile typeface with a regular version, playful stencil version (Nel Brickbuild), and a dotted typeface (Nel Dots). It also includes light and heavy styles with corresponding fun versions, offering nine options in total for various design needs.
The typeface is available in OTF (local) and WOFF (web) files, making it accessible for different design projects.
The development of Nel began with doodles that evolved into a grid, with each style based on the same design choices. This allows for easy mixing and matching of styles while maintaining coherence in design. Additionally, the typeface offers the ability to combine glyphs, providing further design flexibility.
Nel was completed in January 2019 and is continuously updated, with the recent addition of Icons, an all icon font, in February. The typeface is available on MyFonts.com, offering designers a comprehensive tool for creating captivating prints, logos, websites, and more.
The design process for Nel was streamlined due to the uniform grid and design choices, although defining the whitespace between letters presented a significant challenge, requiring meticulous attention to detail.
