White Dreamland: Redefining Elegance in Commercial Space Design

Wei-Cheng Lin's White Dreamland is a testament to the pursuit of beauty and simplicity, inspired by the founder of a leading salon group in Taiwan. This commercial space, located in Zhongshan District, Taipei City, Taiwan, was completed in October 2020 after a five-month construction period starting in May 2020.

The design concept of pure white and reserved white creates a snowy dreamland-like space, emphasizing simplicity through the mix-and-match of explicit materials, metal, and mirrors. The project is equipped with an initial advantage of natural lighting, complemented by energy-saving LED lights and lamps to achieve a high overall saturation.

Notably, the design avoids exposed gaps and joints, incorporating ingenuities such as continuous artificial stone walls and hidden storage rooms behind closed cabinets to maintain a fresh expression and a comfortable atmosphere.

Continuing the aesthetic concept of preserved white, plain stone materials, tiles, mirrors, metals, and piano lacquers are decorated throughout the overall space. The flooring is extended with plain-white and marble-grained ceramic floorings, while walls of artificial stones echo with the piano lacquers of cabinets and doors.

Wei-Cheng Lin's attention to detail is evident in the design's interaction and functionality. A cross-shaped traffic flow and diamond shapes form the styling area, maximizing spacing and providing a relaxing environment for customers and exclusive work areas for hair stylists.

The project has been recognized with the Iron A' Design Award in 2022, honoring its well-designed, practical, and innovative qualities that meet professional and industrial requirements.
