Flowing Nature: Residential Interior Design by Liao Zhe-wei

Liao Zhe-wei's "Flowing Nature" embodies the Taoist philosophy of interconnectedness with nature, reimagining residential interior design as a harmonious extension of the external environment. The innovative use of sliding stairs and intermediary spaces blurs the boundaries between indoor and outdoor, creating a seamless coexistence with nature. This 27㎡ space in Taipei, completed in July 2022, is a testament to sustainable living and ecological design.

Embracing a low-carbon aesthetic, "Flowing Nature" integrates 210 plant species, fostering an interdependent ecological circle with a 45% green coverage ratio. This design not only enhances the living environment but also contributes to carbon fixation, promoting a sustainable lifestyle. The project was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in 2024, recognizing its outstanding creativity and contribution to quality of life improvements.

Liao Zhe-wei, based in Taipei City, Taiwan, is a visionary designer dedicated to future innovation and green sustainability. With 49 awards in domestic and international design competitions, his work reflects a commitment to highly integrated and creative design services.
