Anji Creative Design Center: A new shared space connecting urban and rural areas, completed in July 2022, in Xilong Village, Anji County, Zhejiang Province, China.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
The Anji Creative Design Center (ACDC) is a groundbreaking architectural project by Anjihood, located in Xilong Village, Anji County, Zhejiang Province. The design draws inspiration from the undulating tea fields, creating a space that seamlessly integrates with the natural landscape while serving as a bridge between urban and rural areas. The project, completed in July 2022, features a flexible approach to design, accommodating diverse programs and activities within its 8,320sqm structure.
The ACDC serves as a shared space that links urban and rural areas, promoting the modernization of the countryside in China through design and creativity. It offers public services, co-working spaces, innovation labs, libraries, and cafes, providing a dynamic environment for digital nomads and creators to engage in work, study, exhibitions, and seminars. The design's unique properties include a planting roof that blends into the landform, solid slim steel columns, and glass curtain walls supporting vaulted roofs, creating an ethereal ambiance that harmonizes with the natural landscape.
With a focus on spatial flexibility and the interweaving of multiple functions, the ACDC represents a significant step in responding to the landscape of the countryside, overcoming the challenge of gravitating digital nomads and creative staff to serve as a public space that bonds the urban and the rural. The project has been recognized with the prestigious Golden A' Design Award in Architecture, Building, and Structure Design in 2024, reflecting its outstanding and trendsetting architectural excellence.
