Groundbreaking Design of "Majlis" by Ardh Architects

Ardh Architects presents "Majlis," a private club house that seamlessly merges traditional Arabian hospitality with contemporary lifestyle. The design draws inspiration from the rich Arabian culture, embracing the concept of hospitality and the nostalgia of an oasis in the desert. The project is located in Dubai and is currently in the design phase.

The "Majlis" is designed as a ground floor L-shaped building, featuring formal and casual living and dining spaces, ensuite bedrooms, an office, and a detached service block housing an in-house kitchen. The innovative use of natural organic materials such as stone cladding and marble interiors, along with a canopy offering shading to the glass envelope, ensures a comfortable environment that responds well to the harsh desert climate.

The building's layout is strategically divided into three zones, each with its own service corridor, circulation, and supporting spaces for utilities. Notably, the design offers an open view to the northwest side of the plot, allowing guests to enjoy the stunning sunset view of Burj Khalifa in the distant horizon.
