Yi Family Friendly: A Modern Zen 5-Story Multi-Generation Residence

Wen Lung Chen's Yi Family Friendly is a 5-story multi-generation residence designed to seamlessly integrate luxurious, peaceful, and playful environments for three generations. Each floor reflects a distinctive character, catering to different aesthetics and lifestyles while maintaining a holistic style. The residence promotes adaptability and harmony, addressing the challenges of multi-generation living in Chinese culture.

The 367 square meter residence features open concept common areas with color layers and material changes creating a smooth traffic flow and enriching the relationship between spaces. Contrary elements such as East and West, delicate and mottled, and quietness and luxury are blended together in an interpretation of modern Zen, offering a unique living experience.

The residence, located in Taoyuan City, Taiwan, was designed and realized from 2019.2 to 2020.8, addressing the challenges of multi-generation living in Chinese culture. The design reflects extensive research on family-oriented living and offers a solution for present-day challenges of co-living and care for seniors.
