FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Meinger Cracow, designed by Magdalena Federowicz Boule, is a groundbreaking hybrid hotel that seamlessly blends the comfort of an international economy hotel with the communal features of a hostel. The hotel offers shared spaces such as a kitchen for guests and a games zone, providing a unique and flexible accommodation experience. The project, located in Krakow's Grzegrzolki district, spans 450 square meters across 5 levels, with the ground floor housing common areas and the upper floors dedicated to rooms and dormitories.
The design inspiration, "Flow of Creation," embodies the spirit of adventure and aims to create unforgettable moments for guests. Drawing from the city's traditions and local culture, the design incorporates motifs of magic, reflecting the legends of Krakow and the Collegium Maius, known as the center of "magical knowledge." Additionally, the hotel integrates elements such as the chessboard motif, inspired by the widespread playing of chess by the river, and the sale of local food in stalls and shop windows.
One of the key strengths of Meinger Cracow lies in its flexible room structure, offering a diverse range of accommodations, including classic double rooms, private shared rooms, and beds in shared dormitories. This versatility caters to the varying needs of guests, ensuring a comfortable and personalized stay.
The project, which commenced in May 2021 and concluded in August 2023, was meticulously crafted to capture the magical atmosphere of Krakow's Grzegrzolki district, integrating elements of tradition, people integration, and nature. The design process involved extensive research, focusing on motifs associated with tradition, old shop windows, and the existing cultural landscape of Krakow. The team also delved into the theme of magic, drawing inspiration from Colegium Maius and the enchanting elements of the city.
Meinger Cracow faced various creative and technical challenges, particularly in the design and realization of custom carpets and wallpapers that harmonized with the project's motifs and architectural structure. The journey from analysis to realization was a meticulous and rewarding process, resulting in a truly unique and innovative hybrid hotel experience.
Meinger Cracow has been recognized for its outstanding design, receiving the Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category in 2024. This prestigious accolade acknowledges the hotel's creative ingenuity, technical excellence, and its significant contribution to enhancing the quality of life for its guests.
