4x4 Bench: Redefining Sustainable Furniture Design

Shayan Ramesht introduces the 4x4 Bench, a sustainable furniture piece crafted from 16 recycled paper tubes, each 160 centimeters in length, repurposed from carpet rolls. The unique design addresses the challenge of stability by utilizing recycled plastic parts, ensuring the tubes remain securely in place. This environmentally conscious approach showcases the potential for a complete line of furniture and tables, promoting the reuse of recyclable materials.

The 4x4 Bench boasts dimensions of 160*43*43 centimeters, accommodating up to three individuals and withstanding a weight of up to 230 kilograms. Its versatile application makes it suitable for indoor spaces such as cafes or offices. The design also incorporates recycled plastic covers and fabric fibers for cushions, aligning with the trend of utilizing available materials.

Shayan Ramesht's dedication to sustainability and innovative design has been recognized with the Bronze A' Design Award in the Furniture Design category in 2024, underscoring the 4x4 Bench's contribution to quality of life improvements and sustainable practices.
