Lars Gitz Architects Unveils BaseCamp Lyngby, a Green and Innovative Student Housing Project
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Lars Gitz Architects introduces BaseCamp Lyngby, a nature-inspired student housing project located in Skovbrynet 2, 2800 Kongens Lyngby, Denmark. The project, designed to integrate seamlessly into the green Lyngby neighborhood, offers a unique living experience for students, promoting sustainability and interaction with nature.
Studentcampus BaseCamp Lyngby spans 34,300 sqm and features a trapezoid repeatable shaped module that rotates differently within the same radius, creating a round organic shaped structure. The building rises gradually from ground level to six floors, offering inviting green courtyards and a serpentine path on the roof, providing stunning views and intimate spaces for students to meet and relax.
The project, certified at a DGNB Denmark âsilver levelâ, boasts a green roof that purifies the air, reduces ambient temperature, and saves energy. With a focus on sustainability, the building's facade is Rock Panel Durable and is certified BRE Class A+, while 90% of the energy of extracted air is reused in heating.
BaseCamp Lyngby is a serviced campus run by a team known as Basebuddies, offering furnished rooms with private bathrooms and kitchenettes. Common areas are designed to enhance social interaction, providing spaces for play, party, fitness, lectures, and studying. The project is expected to be completed by 08/01/2020.
The project, winner of the prestigious A' Design Award in 2020, reflects Lars Gitz Architects' commitment to sustainable and innovative architectural designs.
