Feng Qi Wu Tong: Integrating Suzhou and Tang Dynasty Architecture

Yan Zhang, of Wonderway International, has been awarded the Silver A' Design Award for the Feng Qi Wu Tong landscape project. Located near a lake in Suzhou, China, this modern residential quarter seamlessly integrates Suzhou and Tang Dynasty architectural styles with modern design context and construction techniques, creating a high-quality living space for modern residents.

The landscape employs the form of one axis and triple courtyards, creating a sense of ceremony and artistic beauty. The project utilizes eco-friendly materials and rainwater gardens to promote sustainable development and environmental protection.

Covering an area of 3200 square meters, the project challenges conventional housing composition, adopting a flexible spatial relationship and diverse cluster variations to build a neighborhood atmosphere of traditional street features.

Completed in April 2021, the project represents a thoughtful approach to landscaping, integrating cultural literacy and appealing to the design method of gardening with painting techniques to create an implicit and abundant space.

The winding corridor and carefully selected vegetation create an atmosphere that integrates traditional street features and modern outdoor recreation, meeting the recreational needs of residents.
