Original Design Uniting 3D Printing and Handcrafted Wood

Daragh Enright's Magic Lamp draws inspiration from the natural form of the Liberty Cap mushroom, known for its potent psychedelic properties. Crafted with 3D printing technology and hand-carved wood, each piece is unique, utilizing ecological materials and locally sourced hardwoods. The lamp offers three brightness levels, operated by a touch-sensitive dimmer switch concealed in the base.

The lamp is produced in a small workshop using Ender 3 pro V2 3D printers and woodworking machinery, with the design realized in Fusion 360. Measuring 150x150x650, the lamp features a three-stage dimmer switch operated by touching the metal base.

Beginning in early 2020 in Ceske Budejovice, Czechia, the Magic Lamp was completed by the end of the year and has been available for purchase on Etsy since January 2021. Enright's inspiration for the design stemmed from personal experiences with the mushroom's psychedelic effects, leading to a unique combination of 3D printing and handcrafted wood to capture its form and essence.
