FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Private Villa Juge by Maiko Minami

Award-winning architect Maiko Minami introduces Private Villa Juge, a modern wooden villa located in the traditional area of Higashiyama, Kyoto. The villa, completed in April 2019, is a fusion of traditional Japanese architecture and contemporary design, offering a unique accommodation experience.

The villa's design is inspired by the historical surroundings of Kyoto, featuring three individual gardens and Japanese Washi Papers that reflect changing sunlight and shadow, creating a connection with the external environment within its limited space.

Utilizing traditional Japanese methods, the villa incorporates various glazed windows, a sculptural staircase, and outdoor baths, inviting guests to relax and enjoy the exotic garden views. The design also pays homage to the adjacent historic buildings, carefully balancing modern elements with the rich heritage of the location.
