"Rewind" - Redefining Retirement Living with Fluidity and Functionality

GT-SPACE INTERIOR DESIGN CO., LTD. introduces "Rewind," a customized retirement residence that redefines modern living. The project, located in Taiwan, encompasses 376 square meters and features a unique "time difference" concept that seamlessly integrates the host's need for privacy with the hostess's desire for unobstructed views. The design team employed hidden and sliding doors, natural stone patterns, and lighting to create a space that evolves with the context, offering a blend of understated luxury and functionality.

The residence boasts distinctive features, including a "time difference" in space, with sliding doors and irregular laminated panels creating multiple storage spaces and boundaries between social and private areas. The design team prioritized connectivity and independence, incorporating hidden doors and independent designs to enhance flexibility in the social areas. The color scheme centers on the unique texture of materials, with a focus on neutral tones and symmetrical designs to emphasize fluidity.

Challenges such as achieving a uniform floor height and accommodating the clients' specific requirements were overcome with innovative solutions, ensuring the project met the expectations of the clients while addressing the technical and creative complexities of the design. "Rewind" was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in 2024, recognizing its outstanding and creatively ingenious design that authentically integrates experience and resourcefulness.
