Zhuangzhi Liu Redefines Residential Space with Inner Emotional Home
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Zhuangzhi Liu's Inner Emotional Home project is a testament to the idea of returning life to nature and creating a peaceful haven within. The project, aimed at remodelling old houses, strikes a balance between contemporary elements and retro styles, offering a unique blend of elegance and functionality. The 280 square meter duplex apartment embodies sustainable design, minimalism, and new life, redefining the concept of residential space.
The project, located in Shanghai, started in August 2019 and was completed in November 2020. The design team, led by Zhuangzhi Liu and including Yichen Shen, overcame challenges posed by the original spatial pattern and regrouped functions to create a calm and peaceful environment. The space was transformed into a warm, emotional residential setting, bringing life back to its essence.
The Inner Emotional Home features suspended stairs, interconnected living spaces, and an open, interactive living area that seamlessly combines the functions of the kitchen, breakfast table, dining room, and tearoom. The design fosters interactions between space, creating a closer relationship between inhabitants and their living environment.
The project was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in 2021, recognizing its well-designed, practical, and innovative approach that meets professional and industrial requirements. Zhuangzhi Liu, the co-founder and chief designer of DC Design, has showcased his adeptness in annotating design and life through diversified cultures and aesthetic theories, providing unique charms and values to customers' individualized spaces.
