Amin Naimi Unveils Sepanta, a Multifunctional Hall Inspired by Turtles, in Kish
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Amin Naimi, the renowned designer, has unveiled "Sepanta," a multifunctional hall in Kish, inspired by the island's turtles. The hall, designed for music, theater, and opera, features eye-catching tortoise shell forms with special night lighting, a suspended curved ceiling, and a smooth wavy surface that perfectly complements the ocean view. The construction of this hall posed challenges due to its proximity to the turtles' habitat, requiring careful consideration of environmental impact.
The construction of Sepanta involved the use of space structures for the suspended ceiling and Glass Fiber Reinforced Concrete (GFRC) for the smooth wavy surface. Energy conservation was a priority, leading to the installation of triple-glazed curtain walls and a three-layered ceiling to reduce energy waste. With a capacity of almost 1350 people and covering an area of nearly 6000 square meters, Sepanta offers a unique experience for visitors, complete with a restaurant and food court on the lower floor, providing stunning views of the Persian Gulf.
Amin Naimi's design for Sepanta began in November 2020 and was completed in three months, with the executive operation commencing on February 14, 2021. The project is set to be fully completed within 18 months. The design was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in 2021, recognizing its innovative and practical approach that meets professional and industrial requirements.
