FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Printmaking Tibet: Illustration Project by Guo Kaixuan

Guo Kaixuan's "Printmaking Tibet" project is a captivating exploration of Tibetan culture and landscape through the art of illustration. The project aims to visually present the excellence of Chinese culture and promote cultural exchange through the beauty and mystery of Tibet. The illustrations depict the remote and pious characteristics of Tibet, combining traditional culture with modern artistic aesthetics to give a new spiritual connotation to the pilgrimage road in Tibet.

The illustrations, created using Photoshop and other graphic design software, showcase exquisite details and can be applied to various materials such as coated paper and cloth. With a focus on promoting traditional Chinese culture in a modern aesthetic form, the project aims to bring national culture into the public's vision and highlight the inheritance and affinity of traditional culture in a novel way.

Created between June 2023 and October 2023 at Northeastern University in China, the project draws inspiration from the unique cultural heritages of Tibet, including iconic landmarks like the Potala Palace, the majestic yak, and the symbolic blue lotus. Guo Kaixuan's dedication to bridging the gap between traditional and modern art has been recognized with the Silver A' Design Award in 2024, showcasing the project's outstanding expertise and innovation in graphics, illustration, and visual communication design.
