Online: A Modern Writing Desk

Agne Balke presents "Online," a modern writing desk inspired by graphic ornaments and geometric shapes, designed to create a comfortable and cozy workspace.

The desk features a black line dividing the table top into two parts made from different materials. The white section on the left can slide forwards as an inverted drawer, revealing a storage compartment. On the right, a wooden decoration hides a small box for desk essentials. The back of the desk features a flap made from natural wood, with a compartment underneath to organize various cables.

The biggest white part of the writing desk is made from coated MDF, while the smaller part is from natural oak board. The square ornament is cut by CNC, and other details and desk legs are made from powder-coated steel.

Measuring 1200mm in width, 600mm in depth, and 785mm in height, the Online writing desk is a multi-functional piece of furniture that combines folk motifs, home office functionality, and architectural form.

The name "Online" represents not only the ever-present internet and social media but also an ability to connect to dreams, goals, and imagination. The white section at the forefront symbolizes an empty sheet of paper ready to be filled with new thoughts and ideas.

Agnė Balkė, the designer of Online, is a passionate furniture designer from Vilnius, Lithuania. She is interested in design, music, arts, personal development, and creativity, drawing inspiration from nature, ornaments, folk motifs, and different cultures. Her works combine minimalism with detailed accents, emphasizing product quality, materials, function, and aesthetics.

Online has been recognized with the Bronze A' Design Award in the Furniture Design category in 2021, acknowledging its outstanding and creatively ingenious design that contributes to quality of life improvements.
