Jose Roca's Tamsa is a contemporary money bank that draws inspiration from the Muiscas, a pre-Columbian South American tribe, and the legendary ritual of El Dorado. The design serves as a decorative piece and a functional money bank, encouraging users to make an offering to their savings in an elegant and meaningful manner.
The Tamsa money bank is crafted from clay and galvanized steel, featuring a brass-like finish. It consists of a vase for storing coins and a dish that acts as a protective lid, secured with a magnetic system. The project, initiated in May 2018, has undergone extensive prototyping and is set to commence production by October 2019.
Measuring 250mm x 250mm x 90mm, Tamsa embodies the essence of elegance, offering, and contemporary design. It represents a fusion of tradition and culture in a timeless manner, evoking the spirit of the Muiscas while appealing to modern sensibilities.
