Multigenerational Residence Design

Hong Kong-based designer Hing Cheng has unveiled "Carmel Hill," a multigenerational residence that strikes a perfect balance between classic and vivid styles. Completed in September 2021, this 1,957 square feet project caters to the diverse style preferences of a three-generation family.

Cheng's design inspiration stemmed from the homeowner's desire to create a harmonious living space for two kids, their parents, and their grandfather. To achieve this, Cheng carefully selected a color scheme of grey, white, sky blue, and grey blue, representing timeless elegance and vibrant energy. The choice of round elements, including ceilings and arches, adds a playful touch to the living space.

The project, executed by O Interiors Limited, utilized wood, metal, and artistic wall coating to realize Cheng's vision. The design's cohesive flow and thoughtful use of color and shape overcome the challenge of balancing private and shared spaces, creating a classic yet fun living environment.
