Yuwei (Rita) Li's "Futuristic City" Illustration Series

Renowned concept artist Yuwei (Rita) Li unveils "Futuristic City," a captivating series of digital illustrations challenging the conventional depiction of futuristic cities. Envisioned as a harmonious fusion of classic aesthetics and innovation, this project explores the incorporation of art deco, art nouveau, and Roman architectural elements into futuristic cityscapes. The series aims to create a captivating visual experience by adding classic aesthetic elements and a humane touch, showcasing the rich history of architectural design.

Li's digital illustration process involved using Blender for 3D modeling, lighting, and rendering, followed by digital painting in Photoshop. The resulting artworks, "Futuristic City #1" and "Futuristic City #2," boast dimensions of 595.9mm x 254mm and 449.41mm x 254mm, respectively, at 300dpi.

Completed from 2020 to 2021 in the US, the project involved extensive research on historical architecture, with a focus on art deco, art nouveau, and Roman styles. Li's innovative approach faced challenges in balancing contemporary and classic design elements, ultimately resulting in a captivating fusion of architectural styles.
