Xinqiao Expatriate Children School in Hefei Airport New Area

Huang Fan's "The Circle" is a revolutionary international school design at Xinqiao Expatriate Children School in Hefei Airport New Area. The circular site and stunning park and lake views inspired a more fluid space experience, with all building spaces revolving around a dynamic center. This innovative design integrates eastern philosophy of equality into architectural form and living conditions, creating a unique and embracing gesture towards the surrounding park.

Spanning 40,000 square meters, this first-of-its-kind international school includes kindergarten, primary school, and middle school, with a focus on prefabrication and modular design to save energy and construction time. The school is designed to operate seamlessly, with separate buildings for the kindergarten and primary school, while the middle school and high school share a building surrounding the playground.

The project, which began in May 2022 in Hefei, China, won the prestigious Golden A' Design Award in 2023, recognizing its outstanding and trendsetting architectural excellence.
