Shun Kudo's Kotori: A Unique Packaging Design Inspired by Japanese Words and Charms
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Shun Kudo's Kotori packaging design is inspired by the Japanese words "Kotoba" and "Omamori," symbolizing the delivery and protection of words. The design features a paulownia wood box with a bird's nest-like cushion to store the charm, made of Nishijin brocade from Kyoto.
The Kotori charm allows the recipient to feel the presence of loved ones by using their words as a charm, providing comfort and support at any time. The packaging includes a letter card for writing a message, creating a meaningful connection between the sender and the recipient.
The Kotori project, initiated in October 2018 in Tokyo, culminated in the public release of the design around April 2019. It aims to protect and preserve precious words in an era of information overflow, fostering meaningful connections and happiness.
