Bipro: Smart Fitness Device with Bi-Directional Projection

Bipro, a smart fitness device by designer Hongyu Wu, is revolutionizing home workouts with its bi-directional projection technology. Unlike existing products, Bipro can project both on-wall and on-ground displays, creating immersive and inclusive fitness experiences for users of all ages.

Equipped with advanced motion recognition, Bipro allows users to control on-wall displays through gestures and interact with on-ground projections using their feet, fostering intuitive and engaging workout experiences.

Utilizing bi-directional DLP laser projection technology, Bipro sets a new standard in home fitness equipment, providing high-quality visuals and inclusive interaction. The design challenges of creating immersive interaction experiences and efficient form development were overcome, resulting in the unique L-shaped form of Bipro, perfectly aligning with its bi-directional projection functionality.

The project, which began in December 2023 and concluded in February 2024 in London, involved extensive research, prototyping, and testing to ensure the viability and effectiveness of integrating bi-directional laser projection into home fitness devices. The design has been recognized with the Silver A' Design Award in Digital and Electronic Device Design, showcasing outstanding expertise and innovation.

Hongyu Wu, an industrial designer known for his focus on user experience and emotional connection with products, has crafted Bipro as a high-end, delightful solution for home fitness, delivering elegance and modesty with craftsmanship. With multiple internship experiences at top design consultants and as a winner of the RCA Grandchallenge 2023/24, Wu's design prowess is evident in Bipro's innovative approach to home fitness.
