Artsy D9: A Creative Sanctuary Seamlessly Marrying Past and Present

IMPLMNT architects proudly presents Artsy D9, a transformative project that seamlessly marries past and present, creating a dynamic fusion of art and office space. Originally built in the 1890s and recognized as a cultural heritage building in 1996, Artsy D9 is a multi-functional space that transitions effortlessly between a functional office and a vibrant contemporary art gallery. The project, completed in June 2023, stands as a testament to the team's dedication to preserving history while embracing contemporary vibrancy.

The primary building, designed by architect V. Polozov, underwent several transformations over the years, including serving as a gynecology clinic, residence, and a court during WWII. The recent project by IMPLMNT architects has breathed new life into the space, creating a creative sanctuary where meticulously preserved 19th-century elements coexist with over 170 contemporary art pieces from the Noewe Foundation, including works by renowned artists such as Cindy Sherman and Andres Serrano.

Artsy D9 operates as a functional office during the day, accommodating almost 200 employees, and seamlessly transforms into a public contemporary art museum, offering guided tours and participating in architecture festivals, emphasizing its significance as a versatile and engaging space. The project has received the prestigious Bronze A' Design Award in 2024, recognizing its outstanding and creatively ingenious design that authentically combines historical preservation with contemporary functionality.
