Nightside: Redefining Bedside Lighting

Designed by Jess Gupta, the Nightside table lamp is a revolutionary lighting solution that transforms the traditional concept of bedside lamps. Inspired by the need for a non-disruptive reading light, the lamp offers a warm, low-light glow for a relaxing ambiance, with an extendable spotlight feature for focused activities. Its patented optical projection system ensures even and bright illumination, all while being highly energy-efficient.

When closed, the lamp emits a warm glow, creating a calming environment. With a simple press, the extendable spotlight feature is revealed, providing a bright yet even light for reading and writing without disturbing others. The lamp's unique design and functionality make it an ideal choice for those seeking a peaceful nighttime atmosphere.

The lamp is assembled from aluminum and injection-molded plastic parts, incorporating optical lenses and cotton fabric. It features a custom-designed PCB controlling a Cree 3000K warm white LED, powered by a USB-C charging adaptor and cable. The extendable reflector is actuated via an internal gas spring, allowing for seamless operation.

The development of the Nightside lamp began in San Francisco in 2018, with production commencing in 2022. The design process involved extensive research into optics, LED configurations, and user experience, resulting in a product that meets the highest standards of performance and user satisfaction.

Recognized for its innovative approach to bedside lighting, the Nightside lamp has been awarded the prestigious Iron A' Design Award in 2023, acknowledging its practicality, innovation, and contribution to a better world.
