Umma Armchair: A Seamless Fusion of Art and Function

Ariane Cristina da Rosa introduces the Umma Armchair, a stunning piece of furniture designed to bring a coastal, nautical ambiance to any space. Crafted for both indoor and outdoor use, the Umma Armchair offers a perfect blend of comfort and aesthetics, with its graceful curves and seamless lines setting it apart from other offerings in its category. The chair, made of recyclable aluminum and nautical rope, is not only a seating solution but also a work of art that can seamlessly fit into any decor.

Measuring 900mm in width, 700mm in depth, and 800mm in height, the Umma Armchair is meticulously designed to ensure optimal comfort. Its upholstery, tailored with technical fabrics, provides a comfortable yet weather-resistant experience, making it an ideal choice for relaxation and entertainment outdoors.

Starting as a project in November 2022 during the Design Tank immersion and design competition in Bento Goncalves, RS, Brazil, the Umma Armchair is now set to be produced by Sulvimes, offering a piece that overcomes the barrier of time and remains a timeless addition to any space.

Speaking about the Umma Armchair, Ariane Cristina da Rosa said, "The goal of the project was to create a visually lightweight and sophisticated outdoor armchair, achieving the perfect aesthetic balance. To ensure durability and strength, aluminum structure was combined with nautical rope and technical fabric."

Recognizing the exceptional design and creativity behind the Umma Armchair, it was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in 2023. This accolade celebrates the chair's outstanding and creatively ingenious design, authenticating experience and resourcefulness, and contributing to quality of life improvements.
