Revolutionary AD Light Series Mask Redefines Personal Protection Equipment

The AIR DEVICE Design Team is proud to introduce the AD Light Series, a groundbreaking full-face powered respiratory mask designed to revolutionize personal protection equipment. The project, which commenced in the second half of 2019, was inspired by the need for innovation in the PPE market and the team's passion for futuristic concepts from Star Trek and Star Wars. The mask is set to launch in the market in the coming months, offering a modular platform that can be adapted for various uses, including regular, medical, sports, and industrial applications.

The AD Light Series mask boasts integrated HEPA filtration, adjustable positive pressure, and smart airflow controls, providing a comfortable and efficient user experience. Weighing only 245g, the mask features innovative weight distribution to minimize pressure on the face, making it suitable for extended wear. The use of optical clear polycarbonate with special anti-scratch and anti-fog coating, combined with smart controls via a paired mobile application, ensures optimal performance for daily activities and active sports.

The mask's powerful silent fan draws in air from the outside, which is then purified by HEPA filters with 99.9% efficiency before being supplied into the mask. The exchangeable around-face cushion allows for a low-pressure tight fit, ensuring comfort during prolonged use. The battery system enables up to 16 hours of use, and the mask is equipped with integrated AI and connectivity to a mobile app for a smart and seamless user experience.

The AD Light Series mask is currently undergoing PPE III certification and "crowd-testing" by selected beta testers, with a targeted market availability by May-June this year. The project has encountered and overcome various challenges, particularly in creating ergonomic and user-friendly controls to ensure daily comfort and usability. The design has been recognized with the Bronze A' Design Award in the Safety Clothing and Personal Protective Equipment category, acknowledging its outstanding and innovative approach to enhancing quality of life and safety.
