Exhibition Center Showcases Sichuan Style and Regional Design

Xu Liu, the founder of Shangze Design, has unveiled the Yunnan Lijiang Dongcheng International Exhibition Center, a project that beautifully combines Sichuan style and regional design to create a unique showcase of cultural integration. Located in Lijiang, Yunnan province, the exhibition center stands out with its elegant Chinese elements of rattan and wood veneer, carefully stacked to convey the feeling of ancient and elegant life. The project, awarded Silver in A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2023, captures the essence of the local culture and ethnic minorities, offering a distinctive and culturally rich experience.

The project, which started in June 10th, 2020 and finished in April 30th, 2021, spans two floors with the first floor standing at 6000MM and the second floor at 4500MM. The design incorporates Dongde Mining stone, TOTO sanitary, Keding wood veneer, Dongpeng tiles, and CDN lighting, showcasing a meticulous attention to detail and quality in its realization technology.

With a focus on real estate sales, the exhibition center will be promoted through print media and urban digital platforms to attract customers and third-party collaborations. The design team overcame challenges by conducting extensive market research on local architectural and humanistic features, ensuring that the project meets the usage needs and aesthetic standards of the local community.

Designer Xu Liu's vision for the project was rooted in the return of Lijiang culture, evident in the abstract landscape map formed by mosaics at the entrance hall and the traditional Chinese architectural elements such as the sloping roof and indoor water pavilion. The aluminum grille device maintains an interactive interior and exterior, creating a natural and transparent sense of space.
