Ztraw: Redefining Reusable Straws

Ztraw is a foldable and pocket-size reusable straw designed by Li Sung Shan, offering a stylish and sustainable solution to the global movement against single-use plastic straws. At the core of Ztraw's design is its foldable and portable nature, making it convenient for users to carry it anywhere. The straw is crafted from a blend of antibacterial polypropylene and thermoplastic elastomer, ensuring safety and hygiene with every use. The accompanying washable pouch, available in ten stylish colors, adds a touch of fashion to sustainability. Ztraw's triangular shape seamlessly transforms into a circular mouth opening, providing a sturdy and ergonomic design for an enhanced user experience.

Ztraw's production process involves precision injection molding to achieve the desired structure and functionality. The product's dimensions of 190mm x 37mm x 3.8mm and weight of 15g make it a compact and lightweight accessory for everyday use. The flat pack packaging minimizes the carbon footprint during transportation, aligning with the brand's commitment to sustainability.

The journey of Ztraw began in January 2018, leading to its official launch on Kickstarter in March 2020. The production commenced in June, with assembly taking place in Hong Kong by St. James' Settlement sheltered workshop. The product was made available to buyers starting in July 2020, marking a significant milestone in the fight against single-use plastic waste.

Extensive research and development efforts have been invested in overcoming the technical and creative challenges associated with Ztraw's unique design.
