Composite Display Props "Carbon Cognition" by Wang Hongyin

Built by Action introduces "Carbon Cognition," an interactive art installation designed by Wang Hongyin. The installation aims to raise awareness about carbon emissions and environmental impact through immersive data visualization and interactive programming. The project was launched in Xi'an in January 2023, completed in May 2023, and exhibited at Xi'an Gpark in June 2023.

The art installation, made of stainless steel, plastic, and metal, features an octagonal frame with real-time interactive data visualization and closed-loop chain reaction units. TouchDesigner and Arduino hardware were used for programming and interaction, enabling visitors to experience the impact of daily behaviors on carbon emissions.

Wang Hongyin, along with designers Liu Zichang and Hu Zhijie, collaborated with advisor Chen Zhong to realize the innovative concept. The installation's interactive elements, including faucet, car start button, printer switch, and Leapmotion gesture catcher, engage visitors in understanding the environmental implications of daily activities.
