Sapiens Design Unveils Pan, a Unique Coat Rack Made of Recovered Steel, Inspired by Nature and Circular Economy Principles

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Pan: A Multifaceted Coat Rack

Sapiens Design introduces Pan, a coat rack that reimagines recovered steel into a multifaceted, sculptural piece of functional art. Inspired by nature and circular economy principles, Pan is a testament to sustainable design innovation.

Pan is a coat rack entirely made of recovered steel, with each piece obtained from the design and optimization of waste materials from industrial processes of steel laser cutting. The result is a unique, organic shape that interacts with light and the environment, creating changing and interesting shadows.

Made of high-quality SSAB Swedish Steel, Pan is designed to be long-lasting, non-deformable, and resistant to oxidation. The laser cutting process takes place on standard 1488 mm x 2990 mm sheets, with minimal waste and CO2 emissions.

The project was conceived by the Sapiens Design studio in Milan in 2021 and put into practice by Nestart srl. Pan was first presented during the Milan Design Week in September 2021.
