Linkou Pure Land: A Tranquil Buddha Hall Design by Szu-Wei Lee
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Szu-Wei Lee's Buddha Hall design, Linkou Pure Land, draws inspiration from the concept of the Pure Land of Bliss in Mahayana Buddhism, creating a space imbued with dignity and tranquility. The design aims to contribute to social and spiritual well-being, offering a peaceful retreat for religious gatherings and mindful meditation.
The 727 square meter space is divided into a classroom, a reception area, and the main hall, featuring transparent elements like glass screens and hollow-patterned walls to maintain a consistent flow of space. The design reflects the notion of purity and lightness, with wood tones, concrete elements, and a skylight effect simulating natural lighting.
Located in Linkou District, Taipei City, the Buddha hall overcomes challenges of a basement location by incorporating natural sunlight and botanical elements, infusing a refreshing ambiance. The project represents the first phase of site construction, with plans for future expansion to include a children's reading area, enriching the community with a culturally friendly space.
