Ossh: Multifunctional Handle System

Giangi Razeto, the leading designer at F.lli Razeto e Casareto s.p.a., has unveiled Ossh, a revolutionary multifunctional door handle system designed to address safety and management applications. The Ossh handle is a luminous extra signage that provides critical information such as the best escape route during emergencies like blackouts, fires, and evacuation plans. The handle is equipped with a cable-free power and data transfer system, illuminating to guide individuals to safe escape routes in critical conditions.

Ossh is available in different kits, each tailored to specific functions based on the environment. The Stand Alone kit is designed for privacy, while the Wired kit is intended for fire doors. Additionally, the Wi-fi kit is integrated into domotic systems, allowing the handles to interact with other devices and change their color accordingly. The handles also feature esi, a permanent antimicrobial anodic protection that has been tested and certified to kill the coronavirus, providing continuous sanitation of the environment and hands while opening the door.

The Ossh handle system is composed of a lock and striker plate with a power and data transfer device, a pair of door handles with escutcheons, and RGB LED stripes with an acrylic insert for light diffusion. The handles are made of light alloy 6082 anticorodal, finished with esi antimicrobial system for added protection.

The project, which began in Sori in 2018 and concluded in 2020, was showcased at the Salone Nautico di Genova in September 2020. The antimicrobial properties of Ossh were studied and certified with laboratory tests at the Università di Modena e Reggio during the pandemic. The handles operate as intuitive lighting interfaces to indicate escape routes in critical conditions, providing a 24/7 disinfecting action through the constant emission of silver and other metallic ions.

Giangi Razeto's Ossh handle system has been recognized with the prestigious Silver A' Design Award in 2021, highlighting its outstanding expertise, innovation, and remarkable level of excellence in design.
