Geometric Residence: A Unique 99 Square Meters Mansion in Central Taipei

In a stunning display of geometric innovation, Jia Fang Hsu has unveiled the Geometric Residence, a 99 square meters mansion located in central Taipei. The principal concept of the project revolves around the use of triangle, square, and hexagon shapes, with an irregular cabinet converting the most important corner of the entire space. The design also focuses on visual extension, with a curved glass partition between the bedroom and walk-in closet, amplifying the effect of visualization.

The bright and minimalist color palette, decorative planting, lightweight metal structure, and natural wood material selection all contribute to creating a cozy and stress-relieving home. The project, which started in August 2018 and finished in May 2019, posed challenges in building irregular shapes, particularly in the carpentry work. The innovative strategy employed by the designer involved carpenters working in geometry modeling for the cabinet, combining several colors in planar geometry to create a visually striking and unique image.

Main materials used in the project include oak, rose gold iron, paint, and quartz tiles. The space is composed of points, lines, and planes, with the style of the shoe cabinet at the right side of the entrance made by a polygon with concave planes. The objects in the space were decomposed into 2-D graphs and then separated as line components to produce the opened showcase style.

Jia Fang Hsu, an interior designer at FULLHOUSE INTERIOR DESIGN LTD with over 10 years of experience, specializes in residential and office design. The Geometric Residence has been recognized with the prestigious Silver A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category in 2020, highlighting its outstanding expertise and innovation.
