DLCA Architects Introduces The MeetNi, a Unique Guesthouse Design

DLCA Architects proudly presents The MeetNi, a guesthouse in Yingshan, China, designed by Lichen Ding and his team. Inspired by traditional Chinese architectural styles, the 1000 square meter guesthouse offers a modern, natural, and artistic retreat for visitors. The design seamlessly integrates natural elements and contemporary aesthetics to create a serene and elegant environment.

The MeetNi is a testament to the fusion of traditional and contemporary design, utilizing local materials and craftsmanship to create a unique and comfortable space. The guesthouse features a harmonious blend of natural wood, stone, and handcrafted textiles, providing a tranquil and inviting atmosphere for guests.

One of the notable design challenges overcome by the team was the transformation of the original building, which involved the creation of a five-story hollow light well to promote natural daylight throughout the space. This innovative solution not only enhances the aesthetics but also contributes to the overall well-being of the guests.

Throughout the guesthouse, guests will encounter art pendants in the atrium, creating an inviting ambiance reminiscent of leaves in the sun. The wood grid screen runs vertically, offering glimpses of the outdoor landscape and seamlessly connecting the interior with the exterior. The design aims to evoke a sense of tranquility, softness, and understated elegance.

The MeetNi project commenced in December 2018 and was completed in January 2020, showcasing the meticulous attention to detail and thoughtful integration of modern living needs into the local nature and culture. The guesthouse has been recognized with the prestigious Silver A' Design Award in 2020, highlighting its exceptional creativity and innovation.
