Slow Living Residential Apartment Design

Chi Wei Lin and Yu Chih Chang's Slow Living project is a Japanese Zen style residential apartment that embodies a natural, plain, and slow-living atmosphere, integrating the local environment characteristics of nature. The design principle focuses on bringing natural elements into the home to create a warm and embracing environment.

The apartment, spanning 524 square meters, was designed to maintain its original layout, incorporating the existing air conditioning pipes and floorings to create a feeling of precise conformity. The ceiling renovations and proper configuration of the air conditioning system were meticulously planned to rearrange areas in accordance with the scales of space.

The interior design features construction materials such as thin slates, wood grilles, and natural paints, creating a dignified TV wall, scattering sunlight, and spawning a calm, plain, and slow-living atmosphere throughout the house.

The designer, Lin Chi-Wei, aimed to envelop the home with a warm vibe that soothes both physically and mentally, incorporating natural elements into the construction materials to create a relaxing environment for the residents.

Beyond the ideas of interior design, the project aimed to provide the house owner with a space to slow down and enjoy the quality of life, relieving them from the stresses of daily life.
