Maximizing Daylighting and Interactivity with Innovative Design
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
CHEN SHENG-YUAN presents "Building Blocks," a residential house design that maximizes daylighting and interactivity. The open public domain with storage function is like building blocks, fostering interaction between family members.
The large internal French windows bring light to every corner, while the gentle texture of the wood grain creates a harmonious and warm interior space. The inclined tangent line on the mezzanine conquers the beam, widening the view of the two floors and harmonizing the space.
Emphasizing the correlation between material and space function, the staircase is built with concrete polishing, and laminate flooring provides a clear transition. Irregular structures are concealed by differences in floors, and hidden rooms and storage are seamlessly integrated.
The project, which started in January 2019 and finished in May 2019 in Taiwan, was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in 2022 for its innovative and practical approach to residential design.
