Ghazaleh Abbasian unveils Monarc, a revolutionary chair design inspired by science and art, offering multifunctionality and flexibility. Tehran, Iran - 2024
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Ghazaleh Abbasian introduces Monarc, a groundbreaking chair design that seamlessly blends science, art, and aesthetics. The chair draws inspiration from the arch-shaped bridge, offering a form that efficiently carries compressive loads while providing multifunctionality and flexibility. The innovative design aims to redefine the conventional concept of chairs, offering strength and versatility in various modes.
Monarc stands out with its simplified manufacturing process, harmonious appearance, and distinct impression. Comprising two main parts, the chair features a seating position on top and a load-carrying support at the bottom. By rotating the upper part and changing the position of the main arch, the chair can adapt to different functions, offering a unique user experience.
The chair is constructed using plywood in four different forms connected with metal rods and screws. With a height of 80 cm and a diameter of 120 cm, Monarc showcases the fusion of form and function, creating a dynamic and adaptable seating solution.
Ghazaleh Abbasian, an accomplished architect with 15 years of experience, has ventured into product design with Monarc. The design reflects a vision to create a flexible atmosphere where people can come together, reimagining the traditional concept of a chair. Monarc has been recognized with the prestigious Bronze A' Design Award in the Furniture Design category, celebrating its innovative approach and contribution to enhancing quality of life.
