Yuksel Proje introduces a nature-inspired, sustainable metro station design for the Istanbul Rail System -Phase 1, aiming to connect the National Garden and the Belgrade Forests in Istanbul.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Yuksel Proje R&D and Design Center presents a groundbreaking metro station design, integrating biophilic and sustainable architecture to reflect the images of nature. The station, part of the Phase 1 metro line, aims to provide fast access between Sefakoy and Basaksehir on the European side of Istanbul, with 11 stations covering a total length of 16 km.
The design incorporates a skylight and a green wall to provide a visual connection with nature, while also generating fresh air and sustainable energy through Pv panels. The use of BIM technology allowed seamless integration of 10 disciplines, ensuring efficient coordination and decision-making. The station's unique features include the use of Epd certified materials and biomorphic forms in the column design.
Natural light and ventilation systems are utilized to maximize passenger comfort, while pedestrian simulations ensure optimum passenger flow. The design also includes a salient column and interactive walls, enhancing the overall experience for passengers.
