Architect Tsukasa Okada's Innovative Design

Architect Tsukasa Okada has unveiled the House in Shiraiwa, a stunning residence located in the north of Hamamatsu city, Japan. Surrounded by a mandarin plantation halfway up the mountain, the house is a testament to the harmonious coexistence of modern living and natural beauty.

The House in Shiraiwa stands out with its unique approach to interior space, dividing it into two distinct sections: indoor and semi-outdoor. This innovative design fosters a strong connection between the inhabitants and the surrounding nature, offering a sense of openness and security simultaneously.

The design of the pergola, a defining feature of the house, was meticulously crafted using sunlight simulation, resulting in a beautiful silhouette that changes with the angle of sunlight. The use of local materials, such as scraped mortar with crashed white rock, further emphasizes the integration of the house with its environment.

Spanning a site area of 498m2, with a building area of 109m2 and a total floor area of 218m2, the House in Shiraiwa is a testament to architectural innovation and a deep appreciation for the natural surroundings.
