Exploring the Concept of "Weightlessness" through an Immersive Art Installation

Renowned spatial designer yang Lu presents "Weightlessness," an immersive spatial experience video installation that delves into the concept of "weightlessness" in urban life. The installation, completed in January 2023 in Wuhan, China, offers a thought-provoking exploration of the impact of rapid urban development on the environment and humanity.

Measuring 4500mm in width, depth, and height, "Weightlessness" is a captivating blend of images, sound, and materials that simulate the feeling of falling, using drones to capture aerial footage of high-rise residential buildings. The installation's main structure, built using scaffolding, is adorned with simulated plants, creating a miniature urban landscape that invites viewers to reflect on their own experiences in urban life.

Through a multi-sensory presentation, "Weightlessness" provides an immersive exhibition experience, allowing the audience to navigate the installation and contemplate the complexities of modern urban life, ecological environments, and human emotions.
