KuKuk Box GmbH introduces a revolutionary concept of a mobile playground container, offering a sustainable and innovative solution for urban open spaces, designed to inspire a new generation of children.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
KuKuk Box GmbH presents an innovative solution to urban play spaces with the introduction of a mobile playground container, designed to transform urban open spaces into vibrant play areas for children. The concept originated from the need to create a temporary playground that could be easily deployed without the need for permanent foundations, making it an ideal solution for urban environments.
The playground container, made from repurposed shipping containers and natural wood, offers a unique and sustainable play space that combines industrial design with traditional craftsmanship, providing children with an engaging and safe environment to climb, swing, jump, and balance.
The innovative design not only saves time and resources but also offers a trendy and mobile play solution that can be easily transported and set up at different locations, providing a fresh and exciting experience for children.
At the core of the design is a commitment to sustainability, utilizing high-quality materials such as corten steel, European sourced sapwood-free robinia wood, and durable Hercules rope, ensuring long-term durability and safety for the young users. The standardized containers enable cost-effective shipping and quick assembly, eliminating the need for extensive planning and construction processes, while also eliminating the requirement for excavation and foundations.
The KuKuk Box mobile playground container has been meticulously designed to meet strict safety standards and specifications, ensuring that it provides a safe and enjoyable play environment for children. The innovative combination of contrasting materials and standards posed a creative and technical challenge, which the design team successfully overcame to create a sophisticated, innovative, and cost-effective playground structure.
The project, which commenced in December 2021 in Vancouver, Canada, culminated in the setup of the play facility on April 25th, 2022, in Wolfsburg, Germany. The design has been recognized with the prestigious Silver A' Design Award in the Playground Equipment, Play Structures, and Public Park Design category, showcasing its outstanding expertise, innovation, and positive impact on urban spaces.
